Acutonics involves the application of sound via specialized tuning forks onto acupuncture/acupressure and other points on the body. This amazing system was developed by Donna Carey and Marjorie de Muynck. Working together since 1995, they envisioned a new field of harmonic medicine: Acutonics. Marjorie and Donna have continually incorporated their experience in music, medicine, art, acupuncture, bodywork, and shamanism to refine this integrated system of healing.

How does Acutonics work?

Throughout time and across all cultures, music and sound have been an integral part of ceremony, ritual, and healing. In every cosmology and mythology sound is a major link, the carrier wave between the world of the spirit and the people of Earth. The Aboriginal cultures in Australian believe that the Earth was sounded into existence through the didgeridoo. In Shamanic traditions, incantations, drumming, and rattling are used to induce dreams and visions of creations. In the Old Testament there is a record of David playing the harp to treat King Saul's depression and in ancient Hellenic culture the pain of sciatica and gout was eased with flute playing.

The Acutonics system and methodology utilizes both energetic point combinations that draw on the ancient and contemporary roots of Oriental Medicine and a system of musical intervals that are created when Acutonicsï¿½ Tuning Forks are used in combination with each other. When specific intervals are applied on or over points and chakras we are able to open, move, stimulate or release energy.
